Brass Stacker™ Scout Rifle
Scout Rifle
TGR Enterprises, Inc. is a Licensed Federal Firearms Manufacturer and we love a good Scout Rifle. The Mosin Nagant 91/30 chambered in 7.62 x 54R offers a reliable and affordable platform from which to start. Although it does not exactly meet the Jeff Cooper inspired “Scout Rifle” specifications, we think ours is close enough for the average persons budget. The Mosin Nagant 91/30 is a big, rugged gun to begin with and after we make our Scout Rifle modifications it is 41-3/4” in overall length and weighs approximately 9.5 lbs unloaded. The forward mounted, long eye relief, low power scope allows for quick and easy target acquisition with both eyes open. Our Brass Stacker™ See-Thru Scout Scope Mount allows you to continue to use the original iron sights for targets up to 100 meters and is easy to install with no need to drill and tap the receiver.
If you already have a Mosin Nagant 91/30 or prefer to purchase your own, we can convert it to our Scout Rifle. If you would like for us to provide the 91/30 platform we are happy to do so. For now, we are offering our Mosin Nagant 91/30 Scout Rifle as a custom so cost varies. Please contact us for specific pricing.
The following are the major modifications required to create this Mosin Nagant 91/30 Scout Rifle.
BARREL: Cut and shorten barrel to 22”, re-crown to 11 degrees, and re-blue. Install Brass Stacker™ Front Sight Adapter Ring and relocate original Post & Globe front sight. Cut and shorten cleaning rod.
BOLT: Mill bolt handle knob bottom flat. Bend bolt handle and blacken bolt.
STOCK: Cut and shorten stock forearm. Mill finger relief in stock. Refinish stock and seal. Remove upper wooden forearm cover. Anneal, die crimp, and re-form forearm bands.
SCOPE: Remove rear sight pins, install Brass Stacker™ See-Thru Scout Scope Mount with Steel Picatinny Rail. Install NcSTAR™ Model SSB27522G 2.75×22 Scout Scope with 8.5”-14” eye relief.
